(Reuters) -Twitter will roll out verified gold and gray verify marks because it relaunches the coveted blue verify service subsequent Friday, Chief Government Officer Elon Musk stated in a tweet, after holding off the rollout earlier this week.
“Gold verify for corporations, gray verify for governments, blue for people (celebrities or not). Painful, however crucial,” Musk stated in a tweet.
All verified accounts will likely be manually authenticated earlier than the verify is activated, Musk stated.
“People can have a secondary tiny emblem to indicate they belong to a corporation if verified as such by that group,” Musk stated in one other tweet, including that he’ll give an extended clarification subsequent week.
The corporate had paused its not too long ago introduced $8 blue verify subscription service as pretend accounts mushroomed, and had stated the sought-after blue verify subscription service will likely be relaunched on Nov. 29.
The blue verify mark was beforehand reserved for verified accounts of politicians, well-known personalities, journalists and different public figures.
